Mayor's Report for February 3, 2026

January 20th

I returned from the ROMA Conference in Toronto.

At 5:30, I chaired the Planning Committee Meeting and the Regular Meeting of Marmora and Lake Council.

January 21st

I attended the Hastings County Planning Committee and Finance, Property and Personnel Committee meetings in Belleville.

January 26th

I chaired a special Closed Meeting of Council.

January 27th

CAO Connolly and I attended a meeting in Havelock with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen to discuss the maintenance agreement for Vansickle Road.

At 12:00, Nancy Sinclair, Treasurer, and I participated in the Central Hastings Support Network, Rural Transit Partners Meeting at their offices in Madoc. Transit ridership for the months of October, November, December 2025 for Marmora and Lake was 739 specialized/conventional rides.

After that meeting I travelled to Kingston for the Southeast Health Unit Meeting.

January 28th

I chaired the first part of the Southeast Health Unit meeting including the election of the new Chair, Warden Nathan Townend. You may have heard on the radio or read in the newspaper that I did not seek re-election as Chair.

January 29th

I attended Hastings County Council in Belleville

February 2nd

I had telephone meetings with SEHU Board members and CAO Connolly.

February 3rd

Marmora and Lake Council.
