Mayor's Report for February 17, 2026

February 3rd

I presided over the regular meeting of Marmora and Lake Council.

February 9th

I travelled to Kingston to attend Southeast Health Unit meetings on Tuesday.

February 10th

I attended a special “closed” Southeast Health Unit Meeting.

At 1:00, I attended Southeast Health Board Governance Meeting.

February 13th

I attended the office to sign documents.

February 15th

I attended the polar plunge event organized by Ron Fudge at Booster Park. Great participation and attendance. Thank you to Ron and his team of volunteers. Also thanks to our Fire Department for keeping everyone safe and the Lions Club for their hot chocolate and hot dogs. The weather was perfect. I understand $3000 was raised which will be donated to the two local schools. A huge thank you to everyone for making the event a success.

February 16th

Family Day – I attended the Community Events at the community centre. Thank you again to the great volunteers who make these events happen.

For Family Day Weekend, there were numerous events organized by volunteers and supported by many businesses and sponsors. The events were “free” and a great opportunity within our community.

February 17th

This morning I attended the Hastings County Planning & Development and Finance, Property and Personnel Committee Meetings. Budgets were presented at both meetings.

From there I attended the Mayor’s Luncheon sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce in Madoc Township. Due to the lengthy meetings at the County, we arrived late but were given the opportunity to speak about our individual municipalities.

At 5:30, I chaired the Planning Meeting for Marmora and Lake and now the regular meeting of Council.
