Internet & telephone Voting

Electronic voting offers convenience for all voters, whether they are seasonal residents who live in a city or live permanently in Marmora and Lake. All eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter in the mail and will be able to vote from the convenience of their own home. This eliminates polling stations, advance polls and proxy voting. It provides full accessibility.

Advantages of Internet & Telephone Voting

There are many advantages to these methods of voting:

Voting by internet or telephone does not require large gatherings at polling stations, and allows voters to vote from the comfort and safety of their homes.

Efficiency: Reduces printing, return postage fees, staff time for vote counting, and the amount of paper utilized.

Accessibility: Electronic voting is a convenient option for electors, allowing them to use their own devices and access their ballots anytime during the voting period, from anywhere with internet and/or telephone access.

Accuracy: Electronic voting uses electronic ballots exclusively, eliminating the opportunity for counting errors from manual tabulations.

Automatic Tabulation: 100% of the results will be available in the hours after 8 p.m. on October 26, once all voters have completed their voting.

Convenience: Many non-resident electors do not live in Marmora and Lake, and should be given an equal opportunity to vote as those who live here. Every elector will be able to vote from a location of their choice.

Is Electronic Voting Secure?

The Municipality is committed to ensuring the security and secrecy of the vote. We will be conducting vote counting audits and reviewing third-party penetration testing to ensure the final election results are secure, efficient, and accurate.

For the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections, Marmora and Lake (along with the other member municipalities of Hastings County) has partnered with Neuvote, a technology company committed to providing innovative and secure election management solutions.

What Neuvote Offers

End-to-End Encryption

One of the primary security highlights of Neuvote's election management platform is their end-to-end encryption. Data is encrypted at every stage of the election process, from when voters cast their ballots to when the results are tallied. This encryption ensures that the data is secure and cannot be tampered with, providing voters with confidence that their vote has been cast securely and accurately.

Multi-Factor Authentication

Another key security feature of Neuvote's election management platform is multi-factor authentication. This means that users must provide multiple forms of identification to access the system, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access. Multifactor authentication is an important security measure that helps prevent hacking attempts and other cyberattacks.

Advanced Firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems

Neuvote also uses advanced firewalls and intrusion detection systems to protect against cyberattacks. These systems help to prevent unauthorized access and alert security personnel in the event of an attempted breach. Neuvote can assure their clients that their elections are secure and protected from cyber threats using advanced security measures.

Ongoing Security Updates and Maintenance

Neuvote is committed to ongoing security updates and maintenance. They monitor the election management system for potential security threats and release regular updates and patches to address any discovered vulnerabilities. By staying up-to-date with the latest security measures and protocols, Neuvote is able to provide clients with the most secure election management platform possible.

Trust Neuvote for Secure Elections

Neuvote's election management platform is designed with security as a top priority.
