NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION AND PUBLIC MEETING
CONCERNING A PROPOSED MINOR VARIANCE APPLICATION

TAKE NOTICE that the Municipality of Marmora and Lake Committee of Adjustment will hold a Public Meeting on March 4, at 5:30 p.m. via Hybrid Meeting to consider a minor variance application to Zoning Bylaw No. 2003-11 under Section 45 of the Planning Act for an application numbered as MV2025-01. The meeting will be conducted IN-PERSON in Council Chambers at 12 Bursthall Street, Marmora, ON, and VIRTUALLY and be streamed via YouTube, which is linked via www.marmoraandlake.ca.

Location of Subject Lands: The property municipally addressed as 288 Tiffen Road and legally described as CON 1 PT LOT 3; RP 21R23415 PART 2 (Geographic Township of Marmora), Municipality of Marmora and Lake, Hastings County. A key map showing the location of the subject property is below.

The purpose and effect of the application is to permit a garage located in a separate building than the principal building that has a height of 5.52 metres.

The applicant has requested relief from the following policy:

  • Section 7.3 b) iv): For accessory buildings not attached to the principal building, the maximum building height shall be 4.5 metres

    • The proposed accessory building will have a maximum height of 5.52 metres

Additional information relating to the application for the proposed minor variance is available for inspection by any member of the public during regular business hours at the municipal office, 12 Bursthall Street, Marmora, ON, K0K 2M0.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake on the proposed minor variance, you must make a written request to Municipality of Marmora and Lake at 12 Bursthall Street, P.O. Box 459, Marmora, ON, K0K 2M0.

ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed minor variance application. If attending virtually, please contact Kristen McConnell, Municipal Clerk, by Friday, February 28th, 2025.

If a specified person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) but the specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Marmora and Lake before the minor variance application is approved, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a specified person or public body does not make oral or written submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Marmora and Lake before the minor variance application is approved, the specified person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
