NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BYLAW AMENDMENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Municipality of Marmora and Lake Council will hold a Public Meeting on February 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. via Hybrid Meeting to consider a proposed zoning bylaw amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act for the application numbered as 2025-13P. The meeting will be conducted IN PERSON in Council Chambers at 12 Bursthall Street, Marmora, ON, and VIRTUALLY and be streamed via YouTube, which is linked via www.marmoraandlake.ca.
Location of Subject Lands: An application to amend the Zone classification for property municipally addressed as 18 Mikolla Court and legally described as Part of Lot 11, Concession 3, Lot 98 on Registrar’s Compiled Plan 2132, Lot 26 on Plan 351, Municipality of Marmora and Lake, Hastings County has been received. A key map showing the location of the subject property is attached to this Notice.
The purpose and effect of the proposed zoning bylaw amendment is: The purpose of the application is to rezone the entirety of the property from Waterfront Residential (WR) Zone to Waterfront Residential Exception No. 4 (WR-4) Zone to permit the reconstruction of the cottage to have a front yard setback of 8.2 metres whereas a setback of 20 metres is required, to permit a setback of 7.9 metres to the highwater mark whereas 30 metres is required, to recognize the location of the existing septic system, and the recognize existing deficiencies in lot area and frontage. The effect of the application will be allowing the cottage to be reconstructed 7.9 metres from the 100-year flood line elevation.
Additional information relating to the application for the proposed zoning bylaw amendment is available for inspection by any member of the public during regular business hours at the municipal office, 12 Bursthall Street, Marmora, ON, K0K 2M0.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake on the proposed zoning bylaw amendment, you must make a written request to Municipality of Marmora and Lake at 12 Bursthall Street, P.O. Box 459, Marmora, ON, K0K 2M0.
ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed zoning bylaw amendment. If attending virtually please contact Kristen McConnell, Municipal Clerk, by Friday, February 14, 2025.
If a specified person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) but the specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Marmora and Lake before the bylaw is passed, the specified person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a specified person or public body does not make oral or written submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Marmora and Lake before the bylaw is passed, the specified person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
