Transportation Services Update: Spring and Summer 2026 Recap

The cooler September weather signals the end of road construction season, and the beginning of winter preparation. Spring and summer were a busy time for our Transportation Services Department.

Here’s a recap of some of the important capital and operational work our team completed so far this year:

• Ditching, grading and double surface treatment along 2.5 km of Centre Line Road (from O’Heir Road to Malone Road and Malone Road to Deloro Road) completed in July.

• Ditching, grading, culvert replacements and double surface treatment along 3.5 km of Deloro Road (from Deloro village limits to Lowery Road) completed in September.

• Partnered with Stirling-Rawdon Township to complete asphalt overlay on a rough, kilometre-long section of Stirling-Marmora Road (Highway 14) in early September.

• Partnered with the Marmora Legion to complete the Fallen Soldier Crosswalk.

• Completed asphalt overlays on the north end of Deloro Road and on Tiffen Road.

• Repaired some sidewalks and patched potholes throughout the municipality.

• Graded roads and shoulders, and repaired washouts this past spring, and replaced and repaired guiderails throughout the municipality.

• Repainted pavement markings where lines had become faded and worn.

• Completed roadside mowing throughout the entire municipality and street sweeping in the Village and in Dickey Lake.

Over the next few weeks, our team will start preparing for winter by ensuring our salt and sand is delivered and stockpiled, and that our trucks, plows and other seasonal equipment are ready for snowy weather.
