Public Notice: Significant Weather Event In Marmora And Lake
Environment Canada has issued a prolonged freezing rain warning for the area and is predicting general ice accretion amounts of 10 to 20 mm, with amounts in excess of 25 mm possible, beginning this evening (Friday, March 28th, 2025) into Sunday morning. The heaviest freezing rain is expected overnight into Saturday morning.
As a result, the Municipality of Marmora and Lake has declared a significant weather event, as defined within the Minimum Maintenance Standards O. Reg. 239/02. During a significant weather event, residents are advised to use caution and are reminded that winter maintenance service levels for roads may not be met.
The declaration will not change how or when the Municipality performs its winter maintenance operations, however, it may take longer than usual to bring the roads and sidewalks back to a state of repair.
