Mayor's Report for May 20, 2025

May 6th

I chaired the Regular Council Meeting for Marmora and Lake.

May 12th

CAO John and I toured the area occupied by the Historical Society and the Hub at the Library Building. We toured the Deloro Community Centre.

From there, I proceeded to travel to Brockville for a SEHU Governance Meeting.

May 13th

I attended the SEHU Governance Meeting in Brockville.

May 14th

I was invited to attend the open house for Magwood’s Martial Arts Program at the Community Centre. This program was for the 8 - 12 year old members. The previous night was for the under 8 age group. Greg Magwood had them participate in demonstrations that they learned in their program and explained the discipline and background of the martial arts. There were about 20 members in this age category present. I was very impressed both with their discipline, their respect for their coach and the skills they have acquired especially in learning how to protect themselves in challenging situations. Thank you to Greg for providing this opportunity for the younger members of our community.

May 19th

I spent a good part of the day preparing for five meetings today.

May 20th

Today, I attended the Hastings County Planning & Development, Finance Property & Personnel Committee Meetings, followed by a special Council Meeting. I also participated in a selection meeting to hire a facilitator for leadership training for the SEHU.
