Mayor's Report for April 15, 2025

March 29th

We experienced a destructive ice storm in the area and many were without hydro for an extended period of time. The municipality opened the Information Centre and the Arena to the public and the Fire Department provided potable water.

Then, the Crowe Valley watershed experienced significant flooding and several roads were closed. The Transportation Services Department and the Fire Department provided sand and sandbags and assisted the public in an effort to reduce damages.

On behalf of myself and Council, I would like to extend sincere appreciation to the Marmora and Lake staff and volunteers who responded to assist with the clean up of the first ice storm and provided support to the community during the very high water conditions. Thank you to the hydro crews and first responders for restoring services as quickly as possible. Thank you to the residents for your patience while we worked to restore services.
