That afternoon, I attended Caressent Care Retirement Home to celebrate International Women's Day and participate in a ribbon cutting to acknowledge International Women's Week. March 2nd to 8th is International Women's Week and March 8th is officially International Women's Day. Janice Chrysler and the Soul Sisters organized the event in co-operation with the management and staff. It was a great turn out and an opportunity to recognize the women in our community. Joyce Wilson, a resident, interviewed the women in residence and relayed their personal life experiences - how they grew up, where they worked, their hardships and accomplishments and, sometimes, tragedies. It was apparent the contributions that they made to society and our community. Thank you to Janice and her team, the management and staff at Caressent Care, to Joyce and everyone who participated in this very inspirational event.

In the evening, I attended the Guardian Angel Children's Foundation Gala representing Hastings County.
