Mayor's Report for October 15, 2024

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and was able to celebrate with family and friends.

October 1st

I presided over the Planning and Regular Meetings of Council.

October 2nd

I chaired the regular meeting of Hastings Prince Edward Board of Health

In the afternoon I met with Tammy May, Economic Development Co-ordinator, regarding information she got attending the OECM conference.

Later, I presided over a Special Closed Council Meeting to conduct interviews for the Arena, Parks & Rec and Facilities Manager Position.

October 4th

I presided over the Special Meeting and Special Closed Meeting to conduct interviews for the CAO position.

October 7th

I attended the office to sign documents for the debenture bylaw.

At 2:00, I presided over a Special Closed Meeting to conduct a further interview for the position of CAO.

October 8th

I attended the office to sign cheques.

October 9th

I participated in a virtual meeting with the Ministry of Health Executives, the Medical Officers of Health, Directors and Board Chairs – Hastings Prince Edward, Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington, and Leeds Grenville Lanark. The meeting was called by the Ministry staff to discuss the proposed merger and clarify some questions regarding the financial submission in the business case.

October 10th

I chaired the meeting for the potential merger of the Boards of Health – Hastings Prince Edward, Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington, and Leeds Grenville Lanark. We were advised that a decision should be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

October 11th

I presided over the Regular and Special Closed Meetings of Council for the purpose of conducting second round interviews for the position of CAO.

October 15th

This morning, I attended the regular committee meetings of Hastings County Planning & Development, and Finance, Property and Personnel.

Following the two committee meetings, I participated in a special Hastings County Council Meeting.

This afternoon, I participated in the performance evaluation committee regarding Connor Dorey, Hastings County CAO.

At 5:30, I chaired the regular Planning Meeting for Marmora and Lake.
