Summer Tourism Centre Staff

The successful candidate(s) will work at the Marmora and Lake Tourism Centre for the remainder of July and August and report to the Community Development and Communications Officer.

Position details:

  • Part-time, contract position

  • 24-30 hours per week

  • Requires weekday and weekend work

  • Hourly wage: $21.38 per hour (Salary Grid Class 3)

Qualifications:

  • Great public relations and conversational skills

  • General knowledge about Marmora and Lake’s local tourism attractions and an understanding of community history

  • Able to use Microsoft Office

  • Responsible, respectful, organized and able to work independently

  • Represents the Municipality in a positive, respectful manner

  • Photography, videography, social media and Squarespace knowledge is not required, but is an asset

Duties will include:

  • Ordering, receiving, organizing and stocking tourism material, including sourcing material from tourism organizations

  • Helping visitors by sharing information about local businesses and attractions, looking up directions, and more

  • Answering phones and directing calls to the right people and municipal departments

  • Opening and closing the Tourism Centre independently

  • Keeping the building clean and organized, including the public washrooms

  • Other duties as assigned

Staff will be required to work assigned weekdays and weekends in July and August 2026.
