Staff Recognition at February 17th Council Meeting

At last night’s regular meeting, Council recognized a number of employees who celebrated significant employment anniversaries with Marmora and Lake in 2025.

As per the Municipality’s Employee Recognition Policy, employees achieving 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of continuous service (as of December 31st of any given year) are to be formally recognized. As this presentation has not taken place in a number of years, some catching up was necessary. The achievements of seven employees from five different municipal departments were celebrated last night!

First, Mayor O’Neill and CAO Connolly presented Kayla McLean, Manager of Environmental Services, with her 10-year certificate, but acknowledged that she has actually achieved 12 years of service to the Municipality. Also from Environmental Services, Kayla helped present Jamie Nicolson with his 20-year certificate.

Next, Ryan Staley, of the Parks & Recreation Department, was recognized for 15 years of continuous service, and William Brown, of the Facilities Department, was recognized for 5 years of continuous full-time employment. Their manager, Jeff Young, was unable to attend in-person, but proudly joined in over Zoom.

Next, Treasurer Nancy Sinclair received her 10-year certificate, and helped present Ashley Pressick, also of the Finance Department, with her 5-year certificate.

Last, but certainly not least, Eric Armstrong, of the Transportation Services Department, received his 5-year certificate, but he has actually achieved 9 years of continuous service, so we will see Eric back for his 10-year certificate in 2027!

Congratulations to staff for achieving these employment milestones! Marmora and Lake is blessed to have each of you and appreciates your dedicated service!
