Public Notice: Sale of Surplus Land
Please be advised that the Council of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake made the following resolution at its Regular Meeting of July 15, 2025:
THAT Council direct staff to provide public notice on the municipal website about the proposed sale of four (4) acres of land in municipally owned Industrial Park, legally described as Part Lot 7, Concession 4, Plan 21R4587, being Part 1, on Plan 21R26950, and purchase by EMCON Services Inc., with a purchase price of $200,000.00, and a closing date of August 12, 2025;
AND FURTHER THAT Council direct staff to provide the disposition (sale) of land bylaw for final approval at the August 5, 2025, Regular Meeting.
The lands that make up Marmora & Lake Industrial Park, located east of Marble Point Road, north of Industry Lane, and north and west of Iroquois Avenue, was declared surplus to the needs of the Municipality by Council in 2016, through Bylaw 2016-24.
EMCON Services Inc. intends to build a vehicle repair shop on the proposed parcel of land. Under the Official Plan, these lands are currently designated Urban Employment Area, and are zoned Urban Industrial (UI). As such, the proposed use is appropriate and well suited to Industrial Park.
