Significant Weather Event Issued In Marmora And Lake - July 25, 2022

The Municipality experienced another severe weather event Sunday night, with many in the area receiving tornado warnings.

The fire department responded to multiple calls, including a fire on a transition line and a small gas leak, and they performed numerous wellness checks. Thankfully, no injuries are reported at this time.

The Manager of Transportation has declared a Significant Weather Event as per Regulation 239/02 of the Municipal Act which means there may be significant danger to users of the highways in the Municipality. Please drive with caution, and only make trips that are necessary to ensure the roads are clear for emergency services.

The road crew is out working on clearing roadways; they hope to be done all cleanup within a couple of days.

We are aware of multiple locations with property damage, and we want to express our sympathies to those affected, and we know this causes a lot of work and can take a lot of time to remedy.

The landfill is open today until 3:00 p.m. and will be waiving the clean brush drop-off fees until further notice.
