May Update from the Roads Department

May is a very busy month for the Marmora and and Lake Roads Department, and we appreciate your patience as we tackle several important projects throughout the community.

What we’re working on this month:

  • 🧹 Street Sweeping: Sweeping removes debris and sand from roadways and sidewalks,

which improves appearance and safety while also protecting storm drains.

  • 💦 Catch Basin Clean-Out: This helps prevent flooding by ensuring our stormwater systems work efficiently.

  • ⚠️ Grading of Gravel Roads: Grading smooths out rough spots and improves driving conditions.

  • 🌉 Bridge Washing: Regular cleaning helps maintain structural integrity and extends the life of our bridges.

  • 🕳️ Patching: We will continue to patch potholes and damaged pavement to keep roads safe and smooth.

  • 💨 Dust control: Liquid calcium will be applied to gravel roads to minimize dust and improve road stability.

  • 🌿 Brush Clean-Up: We are still working on clearing brush and debris left over from the March, 29th ice storm. This has been a very long process but the end is in sight.

We understand that these important projects may cause some temporary inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience and support as we work to keep our roads and bridges safe and well maintained.👷‍♀️👷‍♂️
