Mayor's Report for November 4, 2025

October 21st

Was the regular meeting of Marmora and Lake Council.

October 22nd

I chaired the regular meeting of the Southeast Health Board in Kingston. This was a very important meeting as it resulted in a unanimous vote of the Board to set the formula for municipal harmonization of the three merged Boards that there is equal contribution based on per capita populations.

October 23rd

I attended a meeting of the Doctor Recruitment Committee.  John Nicholas, Hastings County, provided an update on his attendance on recruitment job fairs for the County and discussions with several interested candidates.  He reported that this area is attractive to prospective doctors who need to work in "rural" communities.  This area is considered "rural" but it is not "remote" and there is a desirable recreation component and incentives.

October 24th

I attended the office to sign documents

October 29th

I participated in Leadership Training Orientation Program provided by the Ministry of Health and University of Toronto toward training and development for Southeast Board of Health members particularly the Chair, Vice Chair and Chair of the Governance Committee.

October 30th

I attended Hastings County Council.  ALTO representatives made a delegation to County Council and they are here tonight as a delegation to explain and promote high speed rail service between Toronto and Quebec City.

November 4th

Today is our regular Marmora and Lake Council Meeting.
