I participated in the Board of Health Finance Committee Meeting
November 23rd
I chaired the Cemetery Board Meeting. In the Agenda, you will note an updated Bylaw for the Cemetery for Council's approval.
November 24th
I participated in a virtual zoom meeting with the Medical Officer of Health and the Vice Chair in preparation for the regular Board of Health Meeting.
November 25th
I volunteered at the Sacred Heart Annual Bazaar.
November 30th
I attended Hastings County Council. Council passed the final version of their strategic plan for this term of Council. The document is available on the Hastings County website. I also attended a meeting with five boards of health in Kingston: Hastings Prince Edward; Leeds, Grenville and Lanark; Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington; Eastern Ontario; and Renfrew County & District. The Ministry has initiated mergers and we are meeting regularly to explore options that best suit our services and programs.
December 1st
Councillor Lakatos and I met with staff at Environmental Services to plan on decorating the truck for the Santa Claus Parade. Staff were helpful in placing garland and lights.
December 2nd
Councillor Lakatos and myself, with the assistance of Alisha, decorated the truck to participate in the Santa Claus Parade. Alisha was the driver. A special thank you to all the staff for their assistance. Councillor Daoust and his family had their own float and Councillor Derry and family had their own float. It was an amazing parade and I think it was the best ever in Marmora. As the Mayor, I am extremely proud of the community spirit. A special thank you to the Lions Club for organizing the parade and for their volunteer efforts for these special events. The downtown looks great, the park is beautiful and the parade was a huge success. Thank you to our Federal Member, Shelby Kramp Neuman, and the Kramp Family, and to Chris representing our Provincial Member Ric Bresee's office. Thank you to each and every one who participated by entering floats and/or walking in the parade.
December 3rd
I was invited to attend the Classic Cruiser's Christmas Dinner. Due to the freezing rain warnings in our area I, regretfully, did not attend. I would like to acknowledge my appreciation for the invitation and thank the members for bringing the Thursday night car show back to Marmora.
December 4th
I had a telephone meeting with a resident.
