June 1, 2021: Mayor's Report

May 18th

I participated in the Hastings County Planning and Development and Finance Property and Personnel Committee Meetings.

May 18th

Presided over our regular Council Meeting.

May 19th

I participated in the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health weekly meeting. Dr. Oglaza confirmed that all vaccine doses coming into HPEPH are going out. The Stay-at-Home order was still in effect and he encouraged everyone to respect that over the long weekend.

May 20th

I participated in the weekly update meeting with Dr. Oglaza and Chair Jo Anne Albert. Dr. Oglaza advised that he would be meeting with the Ministry of Health to clarify some data regarding our allotment of the vaccine. That meeting resulted in HPEPH getting an additional vaccine supply.

May 25th

I chaired the Meeting of the Economic Development Committee. In response to a questionnaire on their expectations and vision of the Committee each member gave a brief outline of their responses in preparation for a Vision meeting scheduled for tomorrow night with Mark Hanley from Hastings County.

May 26th

This was the regular meeting of the Board of Health Governance Committee. I was elected as Chair of the Governance Committee for this term.

At that meeting, staff provided the Strategic Plan Progress Report, and the Risk Management Report was approved.

May 27th

I participated in Hastings County Council. Hastings County is asking all municipalities to advocate for the GIG Project by contacting their MP's and MPP's to emphasize their support for the project. There is a media release on the Municipality's website.
