November 10th

November 11th
I participated in the Remembrance Day Ceremonies at the Cenotaph in Marmora co-ordinated by the Legion. There was no parade and wreaths were already placed at the cenotaph. The ceremonies were very honourable to our veterans. Representatives from 8 Wing Trenton were present, Rev. Bob Wright offered prayers, O Canada and the Anthem was beautifully sung. Legion representatives offered their usual sincere gratitude for the services of our veterans and our military. Following the playing of the last post, in recognition of the sacrifice of our veterans, there were two minutes of silence.
Thank you to the Parks and Recreation staff for ensuring the grounds both in the cemetery and in the park were well maintained and thanks to John Croskery for setting up the microphones and providing the playing of the last post. Thank you to Maxine Bell, President and the Legion executive and members for ensuring Remembrance Day events are not forgotten.

I would like to remind Marmora and Lake Residents that COVID is still a very big risk. It appears that the number of cases is increasing and medical professionals are reporting that it is due to gatherings outside the family home. The threat to the health care system is significant and they are suggesting the population may be put into lockdown again. Please do your part to comply with the COVID protocol and keep safe.
