Welcoming Megan, our Community Development & Communications Officer
It’s taken us two months to pull Megan away from her desk long enough to take an official welcome photo – but we managed to do it today!
Megan is our Community Development & Communications Officer. She joined the Marmora and Lake team back in June and hit the ground running on our website, social media, grant applications, and community development initiatives. She is also the Deputy Returning Officer for the upcoming 2026 Municipal Election.
She is an experienced communicator and storyteller who began her career as a journalist covering local news nearly two decades ago (including Marmora and Lake Council). Megan also worked for Marmora and Lake from 2013 until 2020 in Economic Development and Tourism before shifting gears and joining the communications and public relations world in 2021.
For the last five years, Megan worked with Redbrick Communications as a Senior Consultant providing strategic communications planning, advice, and support to municipal governments across Ontario and beyond. During her time with Redbrick, she provided hands-on support to clients like the Rural Ontario Municipal Association - ROMA, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario - AMO, and the The Build Communities Strong Fund Community Stream in Ontario.
Megan holds an Associate’s Certificate in Local Government, Finance and Administration from Dalhousie University, and a Diploma in Print Journalism from Loyalist College. She lives here in Marmora and Lake with her husband and four daughters.
Please join Council and staff in welcoming Megan back to the Municipality.
