Marmora and Lake CAO Accepts New Position with Algonquin Highlands

Marmora and Lake, August 13, 2026 – Municipality of Marmora and Lake Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)/Deputy Clerk John F. Connolly has announced his resignation effective August 28, 2026.

“I have sincerely enjoyed my time with Marmora and Lake, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside an excellent staff team and dedicated Council,” said Mr. Connolly. “While this was not an easy decision, it is the right move both personally and professionally. I am thankful for the support I have received during my time here, and everything we accomplished together. I am looking forward to what lies ahead.”

Mr. Connolly has accepted a new CAO position with the Township of Algonquin Highlands as of September 1, 2026.

“On behalf of Council, I would like to thank Mr. Connolly for his service to our organization and to our community since joining our team in November 2024,” said Mayor Jan O’Neill. “We wish him all the best in his new CAO role with Algonquin Highlands.”

Council will begin the process of determining next steps for the CAO position, with a focus on ensuring a smooth transition and continuity for the organization.
