PUBLIC NOTICE: Complete Fire Ban Still In Effect!

The Interim Fire Chief is proactively reminding the public that the Total/Complete Fire Ban is still in effect for all of Marmora and Lake, until further notice.

For those wondering about burn ban statuses in future, these can always be found on the Municipal website, right on the homepage. Go to marmoraandlake.ca and you will find the following:

When the ban has been lifted, the homepage will be updated to reflect that change. Also, if you click on the fire ban graphic it will take you to the Fire Department’s webpage, where you can find further information about bans, permits and other fire-related details.

Complete Fire Ban

There shall be NO open-air fires permitted within the Municipality of Marmora and Lake, at any time of day or night, including, but not limited to:

  • Campfires

  • Wood or charcoal BBQs

  • Burn barrels

  • Outdoor stoves

  • The use of fireworks or flying lanterns

*Small, contained fires for cooking and heat are permitted, but are restricted to a device which uses propane or gas, and which can be turned off. Any device that requires water to put out the flame is not permitted.

Any open air burning, or other contraventions of this fire ban, will result in fines by the Municipality of Marmora and Lake. There will be NO burn permits issued during a Complete Fire Ban.
