Public Notice: Road Closures & Other Flood-Related Information
Thank you for your efforts to help one another through the power outages and for your patience with staff as they have been working as quickly as possible to get things cleaned up! This has been quite a week already, but Mother Nature seems to have more in store for Marmora and Lake. Crowe Valley Conservation Authority issued a flood warning this morning, which you can read in full here.
Please be advised that two municipal roads have been closed today, due to flooding. Signs are in place:
Malone Road, north of Deloro Road
Crofts Road, between Vansickle and Ledge Road
With the rainfall forecast for the weekend, the Roads Crew has been out assessing roads today. Please exercise caution when travelling on the following roads over the weekend, as they are in danger of flooding as well:
Twin Sister Lakes Road, through the long swamp
Peepy Horn Road, by the lake
Vansickle Road, just past the hardtop
Bronson Road, near the end
Sand and sandbags will be available for free for residents at the Roads Department in Deloro (70 O’Brien Street) from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, April 5th, 2025, with staff on hand to assist. There are some sandbags and sand available behind the Fire Hall in the meantime.
