Marmora & Lake Receives Provincial Funding

On Monday, March 27th, 2023, local municipalities gathered in Tweed for a provincial funding announcement. The funding is part of $5.5 million being provided by the Province to help small municipalities impacted by significant weather events last summer. Municipalities were required to submit a proposal, detailing the work completed and costs accrued due to the required clean-up after the 2022 storms. Marmora and Lake’s Mayor and CAO were present to receive the news that the municipality was successful in receiving 100% of the requested funds - totaling $138,271.41. These funds will go into municipal reserves to offset the unbudgeted costs from the 2022 clean-up efforts.
