2022 Interim Tax Bills

DUE DATES
Please note, 2022 interim tax bills will be mailed out the beginning of February, with instalments due on:

  • Thursday, March 17th, 2022, and

  • Thursday, May 19th, 2022

The municipal office is currently closed to the public and will follow Public Health guidelines in this regard in the coming weeks and months.

PAYMENT OPTIONS
When the office is open to the public, in-office payment methods include:

  • Debit

  • Cash

  • Cheque (made out to The Municipality of Marmora and Lake)

When the office is closed to the public, payment methods include:

  • Cheque, dropped off in the locked drop-box located on the front of the municipal building

  • Cheque, mailed to P.O. Box 459, Marmora, ON, K0K 2M0

Other options, which don’t depend on the office:

  • Preauthorized payment plan, set up through our office (call Ashley @ 613-472-2629, ext. 2223)

  • Bank payment, either at your branch or through your online banking. These payments need to be made a minimum of 4 business days before the instalment due date, as it can take this long for your payment to be delivered to our account by your financial institution.

  • Online credit card payment (service fees apply)

Whether or not the municipal office is closed to the public, you are responsible for making timely payments.

PENALTY & INTEREST
Instalments must be paid no later than the close of business on the due dates indicated on the bill to avoid penalty and interest charges. These charges are set by municipal bylaw in accordance with the Municipal Act. Penalty charges (current year taxes due and unpaid) for non-payment of taxes shall be added at the rate of 1.25% on the first day of default, and on the first day of each calendar month thereafter in which default continues. Interest charges (past year taxes due and unpaid) for non-payment of taxes shall be added at the rate of 1.25% on the first day of each calendar month of default.
