Cannabis, the Emerging Picture, and the Future of Hemp

On Thursday, March 12 in Ivanhoe, the Hastings Stewardship Council presents Cannabis, the Emerging Picture, and the Future of Hemp, the fifth presentation in the Winter Speaker Series 2020.

Josh Powles, is professor and coordinator of Cannabis Applied Science at Loyalist College, with a PhD in molecular biology from Queen’s University

  • He will address Cannabis: recreational & medical roles plus potential applications for agriculture and applied industries

  • The current research at Loyalist College and his vision for the program moving forward.

John Baker, president of CBD Baker Inc.

  • Is an internationally recognized hemp breeder, hemp specialist, and professional agrologist

  • Learn about the instability across the hemp sector and the agricultural opportunities

  • Plant breeding and product development in the food, natural health product and bio-pharmaceutical sectors.
