NOTICE OF APPLICATION and NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT NO. 2020-48P

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake has received an application for a zoning by-law amendment, complete with the prescribed information for the subject lands located Concession 8, Part Lots 8 & 9, Part 2 on Reference Plan 21R-3031, in the Township of Marmora and Lake, also known as 280 Deloro Road.

TAKE NOTICE that the Municipality of Marmora and Lake Planning Advisory Committee will hold a Virtual Public Meeting on January 5th, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. via Zoom and streamed through Facebook Live to consider the proposed zoning by-law amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13.

Residents are encouraged to make written submissions to the Deputy Clerk. However, members of the public will also be able to provide verbal comments at committee meetings through the online platform Zoom. Interested parties must contact the Deputy Clerk to register to speak at the meeting. You will be required to provide the following information:

a) Full name;
b) File number of the matter they wish to speak to;
c) Mailing address;
d) Telephone number; and
e) Email address.

Residents wanting to submit written comments or register to speak at the meeting shall contact the Deputy Clerk no later than 12:00 p.m. on January 4th, 2021. The Deputy Clerk will forward an invitation to participate in the meeting using the Zoom platform after the Agenda is published by the Clerk’s Office and upon receipt of a formal request to participate. The resident will be able to either telephone into the meeting or click on the link and enter the access key provided to attend the meeting on their computer or other device.

Please note:

1. That any written or verbal submissions (including your name but excluding personal contact information) will form part of the public record and be made available to Planning Committee and the public. Meetings will be live-streamed and recorded;

2. The minutes of the meeting as prepared by the Clerk will be the official record of the meeting;

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed zoning by-law amendment is to rezone a portion of the subject lands from the Marginal Agriculture (MA) Zone to the Rural Residential (RR) Zone, as a condition of Severance File B1-20.

ADDITIONAL information and material relating to the application for the proposed zoning by-law amendment is available for inspection by any member of the public during regular business hours at the municipal office, #12 Bursthall Street, Marmora. ANY PERSON may attend the Virtual Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation for the proposed zoning by-law amendment.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Municipal Council for the Municipality of Marmora and Lake to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Marmora and Lake before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submission to the Municipal Council for the Municipality of Marmora and Lake before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
