On-Demand and Micro Transit (or ODMT) are very much buzzwords in the transit world currently!
Central Hastings Transit has been ahead of the game as they have been using a Volunteer driver program to offer ODMT since the start of Covid and have seen much success in getting riders WHERE they want to go WHEN they want to go.
With this new and much-improved transit service, you will only see the buses on the road when accessible transportation is requested.
How does it work?
Riders call 613-473-5255 or text 613-661-5254 to book their ride – preferably 24-48 hours ahead (but some same-day rides can be accommodated depending on driver availability).
