It is recommended to shut the water off and drain the pipes in your home if you plan on leaving your home vacant during the cold winter months. Leaving the water on can result in frozen/burst pipes and can cost thousands of dollars in property damage and water consumption bills. If you plan to leave the heat on in your home, please ensure it is checked frequently.

There is a $50 service charge to have your water shut off by the Municipality at the curb stop. To make arrangements, please call the Environmental Services office at 613-472-6285.
