Marmora Council Approves Budget

The Council of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake recently approved the 2018 municipal budget.

The 2018 budget provides for a tax rate increase of 5.6 percent. The expenditures will total $10,721,959 ($6,934,481 operating budget and $3,787,477 capital budget). For a home with an assessed value of $200,000, the tax will amount to an additional $5.08 per month.

2018 Highlights Include:

  • $800,000 for road reconstruction, hard top and gravel program
  • $2,027,477 for the replacement of the water tower
  • Health services support
  • Improvements at the arena and other facilities

“The 2018 budget is a responsible budget that ensures ratepayers will continue to receive quality municipal services at a reasonable tax rate,”  stated Mayor Clemens.
