This is the final council meeting of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake for the year 2020. This has been a unique year for Council and Staff.
I know we are all glad to see the end of 2020 and look forward to 2021 with some hope that it will be the end of COVID.
I want to express a special thank you and appreciation to staff for their co-operation and dedication to the municipality during the difficult and challenging changes of working under the threat of COVID and the adjustments to their schedules and increased responsibilities. Some services were temporarily closed, others were open but with staggered hours and some were required to work remotely.
Additional sanitizing and cleaning services were implemented in public spaces and in our own working facilities. Every single employee and the position they hold was somehow affected by COVID. Our staff responded to the challenges and adapted their job responsibilities to their work environment. They continue to provide services and ultimately keep themselves and the public safe.
THANK YOU.
