Public Notice: Significant Weather Event In Marmora And Lake
Environment Canada is predicting snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 cm, beginning this evening (Wednesday, February 12th, 2025) and ending Thursday afternoon (February 13th). Peak snowfall rates will possibly exceed 5 cm per hour. Poor visibility in heavy snow. The heaviest snow is expected to fall tonight into Thursday morning.
As a result, the Municipality of Marmora and Lake has declared a significant weather event, as defined within the Minimum Maintenance Standards O. Reg. 239/02. During a significant weather event, residents are advised to use caution and are reminded that winter maintenance service levels for roads may not be met.
The declaration will not change how or when the Municipality performs its winter maintenance operations, however, it may take us longer than usual to bring the roads and sidewalks back to a state of repair.
