Thank You To The Marmora Legion For All The Community Support!

The Marmora Legion had a Donation Ceremony on June 8, 2022. Mayor O’Neill attended the ceremony and asked that we share the information to celebrate our local Legion’s great work for our community.

Poppy funds supported the following causes:

Operation Leave the Streets Behind - $1000

To ensure that every veteran who is homeless or near homeless finds the help they need to leave the streets behind.

Operation Service Dog - $1000

These exceptional dogs are trained and paired with Veterans to help reduce anxiety in public settings, redirect attention to more positive activities, help with nightmare interruption and in stabilizing sleep patterns.

Ontario Command Youth Education - $1000

The Royal Canadian Legion is committed to ensuring the tradition of Remembrance remains relevant to and supported by younger generations. We promote youth-specific education regarding Veterans and Remembrance through a range of local and national initiatives.

Catch the Ace funds supported the following causes:

  1. Raised for community: $4124

  2. RCL Charitable Foundation - $1000

  3. Heart of Hasting Hospice - $1000

  4. Marmora Firefighters Association - $1000

  5. Friends of the Library Marmora - $500

  6. Marmora Public School Breakfast Club - $624

Marmora 237 funds supported the following causes:

  1. Crowe Valley Lions Club – Canada Day Parade - $250

  2. Marmora Swim Club - $500

As you can see, when you support our local Legion you support many good causes! Thank you to all the volunteers who work so hard for our community!
