Public Notice: Significant Weather Event in Marmora and Lake

Environment Canada is predicting snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour. The greatest snowfall amounts are expected over the higher terrain north of Lake Ontario.

As a result, the Municipality of Marmora and Lake has declared a significant weather event, as defined within the Minimum Maintenance Standards O. Reg. 239/02. During a significant weather event, residents are advised to use caution and are reminded that winter maintenance service levels for roads may not be met.

The declaration will not change how or when the Municipality performs its winter maintenance operations, however, it may take us longer than usual to bring the roads and sidewalks back to a state of repair.
