“Good evening, madame mayor, councillors, municipal managers, and ladies and gentlemen.

I am pleased to announce that the members of the Marmora and area Curling Club have successfully obtained an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant for renovations to the facility’s basement. This will provide us with the finances to upgrade handicap washrooms to current code, enlarge the washroom areas for improved use, improve washroom appearance, and install water saving appliances as well as other cosmetic improvements. Additionally, air makeup and humidity control will be improved in this area. The project also includes installing new energy efficient windows in the lounge, and air conditioning for the lounge.

We are also pleased to say that we will employ a local contractor and local sub trades for this work. It is our intention to source as much content for the project locally as possible.

We would like to thank the municipal employees who have provided us with knowledge and documentation to help us with the paperwork associated with such a project. We are confident that this support will make the building milestones go smoothly during the building and inspection process.

This renovation will enhance the experience of the people and organizations that rent or use the curling facility for their events, fundraisers and private functions.

At the conclusion of the renovation there will be a ribbon cutting event to acknowledge the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, provincial member of parliament, municipal officials and managers and club members who made this possible.

We hope that many of you will be able to attend.

In closing, we would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awards build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario.

Thank You”

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awarded $108 million to 629 projects last year to build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario.
