Halloween Haunted House Event and "We Gave" Program Cancelled
Due to the rising numbers of COVID in our region and Provincial direction to limit social contact with people outside of your household, The Emergency Management Control Group has decided that the Haunted House Event will be cancelled.
The municipality will not be accepting donations for candy or handing out the '“We Gave” signs.
This is not a directive to cancel Halloween in the municipality. We will be watching for direction from the Province. David Williams, Ontario's chief medical officer, said last week that he may ask people to limit their activities on the spookiest night of the year, but hasn't come to a decision about trick or treating just yet.
"We're looking at the protection of the children so that they're not bringing more than the candy back home with them," Williams said.
