2018 Municipal Election Financial Disclosures Available online
The Municipal Clerk would like to advise that all candidates are in compliance with the Municipal Elections Act Sec 88.25 Financial Statement Filing.
As per the Municipal Elections Act Sec 88.29 (11) Report by Clerk as soon as possible after April 30 in the year following a regular election or 75 days after voting day in a by-election, the clerk shall make available to the public on a website whether each candidate has filed a financial statement and auditor’s report, if required, under subsection (1). 2016, c. 15, s. 61, part.
As well, Municipal Elections Act Sec 88.33 (1) Application - by elector states an elector who is entitled to vote in an election and believes on reasonable grounds that a candidate has contravened a provision of this Act relating to election campaign finances may apply for a compliance audit of the candidate’s election campaign finances, even if the candidate has not filed a financial statement under section 88.25. 2016, c. 15, s. 63, part.
An application for a compliance audit shall be made to the clerk of the municipality for which the candidate was nominated for office, and it shall be in writing and shall set out the reasons for the elector’s belief. 2016, c. 15, s. 63, part.
The last day an elector can file for a compliance audit is Thursday, June 27, 2019
