Marmora Fire Department Collects for a Cause
The Marmora food bank received a helpful delivery on December 3rd.
Volunteers from the Marmora Fire Department packed and delivered two truckloads of food, along with a donation of $630.25 to the food bank after going door to door and collecting donations from the local community.
Fire Chief Tony Brownson said about 30 volunteers canvassed the village on November 27, despite a cold, rainy evening, requesting donations. Residents responded with overwhelming generosity.
Aside from the local community, donations were also received from Valu-Mart. Owner Craig Potter donated cases of peanut butter and jam.
The department wishes to thank everyone who donated to help keep families fed this holiday season.
