Marmora Snags Doctor with Ties to the Area!
Dr. Emily Callery has just signed on with the Hastings County recruitment program. "I am looking forward to opening my practice of family medicine in Marmora, as well as working some emergency shifts at the Bancroft Hospital," stated Callery, she is slated to begin in February of 2018.
Mayor Terry Clemens says “We are very pleased to have Dr. Emily Callery coming on board at our Marmora Medical Centre. I have had the opportunity to meet with her and I would assure the public that she will be a great fit in our community.”
Emily completed her medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, and her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Toronto in 2014. She has also completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedicine and a Master's of Science in Biomedicine both at the University of Guelph.
As for Dr. Callery's ties to the area, her family has a cottage on Crowe Lake and her ancestors settled in the area generations ago.
“We are very happy to welcome Dr. Callery to Marmora & Lake,” says Deputy Mayor Linda Bracken, “it is exciting news for people in the area who are currently without a family doctor to have her come to our community.”
