Roads

Private Roads

We have been taking numerous calls at the office asking for assistance on private roads and property, unfortunately, the Municipality does not maintain private roads or private property.

Road Construction

Scheduled road construction by contractors has been delayed due to the power outage. In-house road construction has been delayed while they focus on clean up.

Staff is aware that all residents are suffering some level of inconvenience at this time. There are trees down on almost every road in the municipality. Our single road crew will do their best in clearing the mess as quickly as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated at this time.

Hydro One

Hydro is asking that people stay off the roads when possible. The Municipal Roads Crews have also been asked to stand down in the north end of the Municipality until Hydro can complete their work.

If you do not need to access your secondary residence, please give the Hydro crews a couple weeks to improve conditions before making the trip.

Customer Outage Tracking

We recognize customers are eager to get more information on the status of their outage and we continue to encourage them to report and track the status of their outage using the company's outage tools, including its map and app, by texting WATTS (92887) or calling 1-800-434-1235.

ESA Property Owner Responsibility:

In some instances, customers may need to complete repairs on their owned electrical equipment before our crews can safely restore power. If there is damage to your home’s electrical equipment, such as the mast or to the wires connected to their home, they will need to hire a licensed electrical contractor to make repairs. Customers can find a licensed electrical contractor through the Electrical Safety Authority. For more details they can visit: ESA Advises Ontario Homeowners to Check for Electrical Damage after May 21st Storm - Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) (esasafe.com)

As of May 30, 2022 - power has been restored to many in the municipality. However, there are still pockets of people throughout who are without power and the norther areas are still without phone and hydro.

As of May 26, 2022 - The worst road conditions will be found in the northern part of the Municipality.
