NEW Municipal Facility Rental Fee Waiver & Reduction Request Policy

While reviewing rental rates for use of municipal facilities, Council and staff engaged the public through the Municipal Facility Rental Survey. The survey was created to obtain your feedback about rental rates, as per Schedule E of User Fee Bylaw 2024-21A. The survey closed on February 12th, 2025, and the results were shared with Council during the Regular Council Meeting on March 4th. You can see those results in that meeting agenda, here, on pages 12-64. Thank you to everyone who participated and provided feedback! It was a very important part of this process for Council and staff alike.

In response to the survey results, Council directed staff to create a related policy and ultimately approved the new Municipal Facility Rental Fee Waiver & Reduction Request Policy on April 1st! Through this policy, Council is providing eligible municipal facility renters with the opportunity to apply for a facility rental fee waiver or a 50% facility rental fee reduction, without having to present that request at a Council meeting. It applies to the Community Centre (Lions Hall), the Community Hub, the William Shannon Room, Deloro Hall, and the fairgrounds.

This policy is a direct result of the feedback YOU provided, and Council and staff are proud and excited to take this step forward together!
